Kind letter from a constituent

18 November MYSTERY LADY DELIVERS KIND LETTER BY HAND TO Dr FORDHAM’s HOME

A kind lady called at Dr Fordham’s home on the evening of 18 November and left an addressed envelope.

Inside was the very kind letter shown here.

It is clear that other people understand the importance of having critical choices on the ballot if the democratic process is to function.

Lucy Frazer QC- South-East Cambs MP 2015-2019, standing for re-election.

14 November TORY CANDIDATE LUCY FRAZER QC VISITS DR FORDHAM AT HOME TRYING TO PRESS HIM NOT TO STAND

When Lucy Frazer got wind of Dr Fordham’s plans, she visited his home within the hour, a remarkable reaction since a large file of correspondence on Brexit starting in September 2018 never led to any such approach. [ Lucy obviously filed Dr Fordham’s letters in the “Too Difficult” folder, mostly without bothering to  reply to them ]. They had never previously met.

A long  conversation ensued, covering many topics but mostly on Brexit, and whether Boris’ “deal” is Brexit. She insisted that Boris Johnson would  achieve a concluded Free Trade Agreement with the EU by December 2020  (though this is not directly in his gift). She denied that she had had  sight of the Tory Party manifesto, when asked what was in it.

Leading ERG members now reversing former positions were discussed. When Dr Fordham asked “who has leaned on them” there was no answer.

She implied that she had a fast track to No. 10 and would forward his views.

She made several attempts to extract a personal commitment not to stand as a candidate.

Dr Fordham’s wife was also there for some of the time, and came under similar pressure.

Dr Fordham left Fordham village at about 1.30 pm, having determined that he would lodge his nomination papers with ECDC in Ely by 4pm. In the event he met with council staff at about 3 pm with all forms completed and witnessed, and his £500 cash deposit, just 1 hour before the nomination deadline.

His family has always faced down such arm-twisting.

13 November DECIDING TO RUN AS INDEPENDENT

Dr Fordham’s immediate reaction after hearing the news was “I can see  where Nigel Farage is coming from, but millions of people are going to be disenfranchised” – if there is no Brexit candidate on the ballot  paper.

Their only recourse will be a spoilt ballot.

This is already a  Rigged Election – with the democratic voice of the majority of the  people who have already spoken simply silenced, with their choice removed from the ballot in hundreds of constituencies.

Dr Fordham therefore determined to run as an Independent candidate, to restore that  basic choice on the central political issue of our time – Brexit.

As an Independent, Dr Fordham believes that it is only credible if  standing in his home constituency. An Independent MP has to be firmly embedded in the community.

Since Brexit Party PPC Vivienne Robinson was  also stood down in South-East Cambridgeshire, there was an urgent need to restore a basic democratic choice on the ballot paper.

Dr Fordham collected the required 10 signatures from his constituents- including Vivienne Robinson- that Wednesday evening to be ready for filing on Thursday.

Speaker event- Dr David Starkey- "Sold, Denied, Delayed- Magna Carta betrayed"

11th November DR EDMUND FORDHAM KEEPS HIS APPOINTMENT WITH DR DAVID STARKEY

Despite the turmoil following the stand-down of Brexit Party candidates, Dr Fordham kept his appointment with Dr David Starkey for a Leavers of Suffolk event at theAthenaeum, Bury St Edmunds, entitled "Sold, Denied, Delayed- Magna Carta betrayed".

This was  an historical exploration of our Constitution and the extent to which it has been broken by political events over the last three years.

Brexit Party accouncement: 317 candidates (including Dr Edmund Fordham) to stand down.

11 November BREXIT PARTY STANDS DOWN DR EDMUND FORDHAM AS CANDIDATE IN BURY ST EDMUNDS

On 11 November at 12 noon, Dr Edmund Fordham was in West Suffolk House whilst his nomination papers were meticulously checked by staff in Electoral Services.

Nigel Farage's Press Conference started at 12:05 pm, and Dr Fordham learned of the content only afterwards. This led to brief appearances on Look East and News at Ten showing his now redundant nomination papers.

His advice to his supporters in the constituency of Bury St Edmunds is to spoil their ballot papers.
